Showing damage

    I just had a thought. One of our major problems is communicating what weapons are good vs. what enemies, right? Well, why not implement a system that shows how much damage the enemies take per shot in form of numbers that come out of them when they're attacked (which is present in all sorts of other maps)?

    Trigger based. I would strongly prefer not to do it, especially with the mass units that NOTD has. Works better for DOTA style games.

    Not to imagine the mass of numbers that would pop out with upwards of 15 shots being taken at a single target would probably be nigh unreadable anyway.

    NOTDs got waaaaaaaaaaay too many external variables that influence damage for such a system to work. It would take an enormous amount of work just to get functional, even then, its more than likely to be nothing more than a massive gameplay nuisance. An HMG is going to create rapid fire 20+'s coming out of a huge portion of enemies. Not to mention with 8 players shooting moderate-high splash weapons at hordes of enemies, the sheer number spam will defeat the purpose.
