Yeah it's not viable for bosses, only said it was good for infestor worms (quite efficient really, saves ammo too).

Bosses are a different story all together.

Except for Deimos. The parasites always spawn directly under the team here, where knifing will always hit the larvae due to the nature of how tight the area is. And if it doesn't, it spawns off the armory ledge/wall and is easily dealt with.

Unless you fight Deimos elsewhere of course:p

I feel requiring a class/skill just for one possible (Not necessarily always triggered) scenario is a sign of bad design. And that's what you're talking about. Getting a survival rifleman, particularly in story lines where he's not very good such as Alpha Company or Apollo just for this one narrow event.

Basically, anything with a stun or massive slow makes Nydus's Parasite much more dangerous.Traps seems to be the most reliable way but as others have said, the game should not dictate that there should be 1 every game.

Also,I would like to note Drop Pods are also potential luck-based scenarios.Just yesterday,a Drop Pod spawned a BM on the third level of the Bunker and sniped DrawingDead off. Also,Drop Pods can also hit around the team and spawn BMs which can pretty much kill anything.

Another thing to a lesser would be Devourers and Slashers spawning under or in close proximity of the team.Slashers can 1shot almost anything without armor.Devourers, although dealing lesser damage, spawns banelings and blindlings which pretty much kills you or prevents you from identifying imminent threats.

I believe they can all be prevented by a Tank taunting but right now, there's only EC where you have tankers with Taunt.Even if Assault and Demo are randomed in other storylines, they are extremely unlikely to go the tank tree as very, very few bosses can or are required to be.

    E.g.:

    Alpha:
    Demeter - Ignores Taunt,Multi-target
Cronus - Can be taunted and kited
Cerberus - Will seek out medic and can "chew" on a target unit which makes taunt useless
IVAX - Do you really want to tank him?
    Perses - Multi-target

    Sec Team:
Deimos - Reduce tanks to shreads
Nazara - Void Ray laser dealing more damage progressively
    Apoptosis - Can be taunted
Athena - Reduce any target to shreds
Hephaestus - No time to tank due to time limit to run out of Reactor Core
Hades Form 1 - Spine crawlers main issue here but they spawn too far
Hades Form 2 - Attacks hurt very very hard and IIRC,reduces armor by 1 per hit.
