    NOTD 2: Pets
    OMG A KITTY

NOTD 2’s pets are making a move from units that start weak and become powerful (in some cases, insanely overpowered) to units that are more middle of the road, in both starting and ending strength. They are also becoming less standardized and more unique - each pet will have a set of abilities that help it to fit a specific role.

    PET LEVELS AND EXPERIENCE
Pets will have a maximum of six levels, with the following amounts being what are required to meet each new level:

    Level 1: 100
    Level 2: 125
    Level 3: 150
    Level 4: 175
    Level 5: 200
    Level 6: 250

Each level will upgrade the pets in question with bonuses unique to that Pet. When a player dies, 40% of their character’s experience will be transferred to their Pet.

    GENERAL PET STUFF:
    • While the Pet is alive, the player will earn 50% of the Rank Experience and Credits from that match.
    • All pets will come with Sprint and Medium class Jump unless otherwise specified.
    • Most Pets come with Inventories, meaning they can now pick things up and haul them around for the team. It is important to note that Pets cannot use items, though.
    • Mechanical pets are immune to ailments.
    • Biological pets can get ailments but have greater health regeneration than Mechanical pets.

    PREDATOR
The Predator is intended to be “a little bit of everything” because they are the default pet type. They have the potential to be useful in a variety of ways, but are outdone in singular roles by other, more specialized pets.

Will the Terran pets all have ranged basic attacks from start? (Warhound, etc.)

The Warhound, actually, is the only one who won't.

I demand pretty pictures with all the pets!
Curious to know which models you intend to use for each pet :):):)

Oh my god! It's the Warcraft 3 sheep! I am so getting that shit. I honestly wish you guys could add a mini version of the Far Seer's wolves and the Naga dragon turtles, but I'm guessing that's not possible.

Well, the Aftermath Sheep will have to wait until Commlink is back. However, once he is, we can start taking and using models from Warcraft III, and if you wanted some wolves and some dragon turtles, then maybe I could get them in.

I'll be honest, if you do that, you guys might get a bunch of complaints of "Arouzed keeps killing himself right at the beginning of the game". Thanks a lot if you do end up taking some time to make it though since you guys seem pretty busy these days.

Through as of yet unknown magic, it will be possible to start the match as a Pet.

If you start the game as a pet, you will receive full experience and credits for that match. If they die, they die - Pets do not have access to stat modifiers or lives like player characters do.

    No, it dies.

No worries. There's no rush on pets - even if they suddenly became high priority, the ones we'd need your help with weren't in the original, so they're kinda not that important to get done.
